At the end of the remediation, a PRVI inspector will perform a project clearance inspection combining a visual inspection of the extent of removal and cleaning of infected materials/areas with a microscopic examination of surface, dust, air, and/or vacuum samples collected at the property.

S/he will make sure that the cleaned area as well all other building areas are completely clean of mold and mildew and fungicidal sealant was applied to cleaned areas.  They will also make sure that all contaminated materials were disposed of properly.

S/he will collect swab samples of any physical surface that appears to still be slightly dirty or discolored.  If all surfaces are clean S/he will collect at least one settled dust sample from a cleaned surface in each major area. paying special attention to areas (or equipment such as HVAC systems) which are at particular risk of having been cross-contaminated by inadequate dust containment measures during the cleanup. We will also collect an air sample from the areas that were contained and one from the outside area that was clean before remediation.

S/he will also repot ongoing conditions which may continue to put the building at risk of a new mold problem, such as failure to correct various leaks, clogged gutter, cracks and gaps in exterior of property (etc).

After all of the necessary data is accumulated, we will send the samples (swab and/or air) to our laboratory for analysis.  Once we receive the lab results confirming that your property is free of mold, we provide you with a certificate of clearance stating that you are officially a mold free environment.
